Former NBA player, Gordon Hayward narrated a hilarious story involving former Los Angeles Lakers legends, Kobe Bryant and Ron Artest. Interestingly, Hayward seems to enjoy his retirement as he reminisces on his 14-year NBA career. In an interview with Stugotz on The Dan Le Batard Show podcast, Hayward talked about a funny incident he had with Artest when he first started playing in the league.
He began his story by recounting a standard scouting report on white players, which is to attack them every game with isolation moves. Also, Hayward stressed how Artest targeted the “white players” on the opposition’s roster during games.

Hayward recently retired in this off-season after spending 14 long years in the NBA. In addition, In the 2010 NBA Draft, Hayward was drafted ninth overall by the Utah Jazz. He played with the Jazz for seven seasons until joining the Boston Celtics in 2017. His first season there ended before it could begin due to an injury, although he had intended to help the Celtics win a title.
Gordon Hayward challenges young players “to dream big” after announcing retirement
Gordon Hayward announced his retirement on social media on Thursday, August 1st. Notably, Hayward had a stellar individual season in his 14-long years as an NBA professional and challenged the young players “to dream big” in his retirement message. In addition, Between the Charlotte Hornets and Oklahoma City Thunder, Hayward averaged 9.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.1 assists in 51 games last season.

To give the Thunder an advantage in the postseason, he got traded to them in the middle of the season. The 34-year-old Hayward averaged 15.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game to end his NBA career. It remains to be seen now how Hayward plans the next chapter of his life after playing for over 15 years as a professional basketball player.
