New York Mets pitcher Kodai Senga represented the fan base in Wednesday’s game against the Philadelphia Phillies. He literally had the same expression as most of the fans did when they saw shortstop Francisco Lindor shoot off a grand slam to win the game 4-1.
Well, there is now one more reason for the fans to love Senga. His frozen expression could very well be part of a meme. While Francisco Lindor’s teammates were pumping their fists and jumping from the dugout after his 398-foot grand slam, Senga stood frozen in the moment.
His mouth was agape, with eyes wide open, as he looked from left to right. Kodai Senga seemed like he witnessed an incident straight out of a book, although it might be true considering how the Phillies were leading the sixth inning by a 1-0 record. However, one blast from Lindor’s bat sealed and boosted the Mets to victory.

Many were shocked to see the 398-foot bomb in the sixth inning of the NY Mets vs. Philadelphia Phillies game. However, Mets legend Dwight Gooden believed it was something only Lindor could pull off in a crucial jaw-clenching moment.

Dwight Gooden said Francisco Lindor should have the ‘C’ tag attached to his jersey as he is the rightful owner of the title. Knowing each other for a long time, Gooden noted that he witnessed all the struggles Lindor went through and how he is now leading the team to victory.
Gooden further added that Lindor is “definitely deserving” of being the team captain. “But obviously, it’s not my call, but from outside looking in, I definitely say he’s the guy,” he added.
