So far, Letang has 2 goals and 4 assists in his last 18 games. Amidst all the confusion, defender Owen Pickering (Penguins’ first-round pick in 2022) and forward Vasily Ponomarev (Penguins’ in trade with Carolina Hurricanes for Jake Guentzel) made their NHL debuts.
Social media reacts to Pens’ coach Mike Sullivan’s announcement
A week ago Pittsburgh Penguins general manager Kyle Dubas declared that everyone in the roster is available for trade except for Sidney Crosby. This announcement made many question if the core trio’s Kris Letang and Evgeni Malkin are also on the plate.
With Letang missing recent games due to an undisclosed illness, there are rumors suggesting he might get traded to the Canadiens. However, earlier such rumors died down after the defenceman denied it.
Social media is in a frenzy trying to figure out what coach Mike Sullivan’s announcement meant. One X user said, “I’m sorry we’re gonna need you to clarify,” while another noted, “Rule everyone out.” Check more fan reactions below:
