“Poor guy has had a tough time” – Dinesh Karthik backs Kuldeep Yadav to bounce back
Kuldeep Yadav is under immense pressure at the moment as his career has taken a sharp turn for the worse after his stupendous breakthrough in international cricket. The left-arm wrist spinner was taking batsmen by surprise as he raced to a fantastic start to his career where he troubled even the best of batsmen and took as many as two international hattricks – something no other Indian bowler has done.
However, after being benched by his Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, chances to play for the national team also dried up. Over the course of the last two years, the 26-year-old has had chances few and far between and has clearly struggled for confidence. He was taken for a plethora of runs in the first two ODIs against England recently and his career looks like it is going downhill.
Dinesh Karthik backs Kuldeep Yadav
Kuldeep Yadav’s KKR teammate Dinesh Karthik spoke about his recent performances in a chat with Sky Sports and said, “Kuldeep, personally, the poor guy has had a tough time. He’s been sitting out for a long time. He comes in, he’s had a couple of games here. It’s really not gone his way. But these things happen to international cricketers. He needs to chin up, get stronger.”
Speaking further about the upcoming IPL and how Kuldeep has a chance of bouncing back, Karthik said, “He’s got a couple of very important months not only in his red-ball career but also for his white-ball career in the form of IPL so he needs to do really well. Buck up and do the best in the next couple of months.”
The third India vs England ODI takes place today while IPL 2021 begins on the 9th of April.
