Even a month later, Hulk Hogan‘s appearance on the Raw Netflix debut is still being talked about within the wrestling community. Hogan returned to promote his beer brand’s partnership with WWE only for the Los Angeles crowd to vehemently boo him. While most have cited The Hulkster’s racial outburst as the reason for the rejection, a few believe that his political association factored into the reaction. Among the latter category is none other than Kurt Angle.

While speaking with WrestleBinge, Angle lauded Hogan for being a wrestling icon. According to him, Hogan’s reaction was due to his political support for Donald Trump. Given that WWE was in a blue state, fans were always going to loudly reject him. Despite his attempts at trying to rally the audience on his side, the Intuit Dome saw through him and his charade.

He’s an incredible human being, but sometimes politics gets in the way. That’s what happened.

What Kurt Angle might not have noted is that the WWE legend received a similar reaction at WrestleMania 37. That year’s Showcase of Immortals emanated from Tampa Bay, FL, which is not only a red state but also Hogan’s hometown. As such, the WWE Universe’s ‘heel turn’ on the 71-year-old isn’t solely because of his support for Trump.

Regardless of the reasons, WWE didn’t take too kindly to Hulk Hogan‘s appearance stealing the show. As per reports, the company was unhappy with how it was the most talked-about segment from the historic night. Despite the negative buzz generated, Hogan’s beer brand will continue to be one of WWE’s sponsors on Raw. However, it is safe to say that WWE will think twice before featuring him on its programming again.

What did Hulk Hogan have to say about his negative reaction on Raw’s Netflix debut?

Unsurprisingly, Hulk Hogan’s thoughts on his disastrous appearance align with those of Kurt Angle. During a recent appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Hogan finally broke silence on getting booed by the Los Angeles crowd.

The real-life Terry Bollea admitted that he expected to receive the negative reaction. Not only because of his political association, but also because he was a heel the last time he was in LA. Yes, Hogan thought that fans still remembered his antics from over two decades ago.

Furthermore, Hogan claimed that he would’ve turned on the fans right there if he were in his wrestling character. The Hulkster then proceeded to bury Kamala Harris, wishing good luck to the people of California for when she becomes their governor.
