Chelsea central defender Kurt Zouma is set to sign a contract extension with the club. The defender who was recalled by Lampard last season has started impressively this year. Zouma has already scored 3 goals and is leading the way.

Spending the 2018/19 on loan at Everton, Zouma has repaid the faith shown by manager Frank Lampard. Moreover alongside Thiago Silva he’s improved immediately.

Popular transfer window spokesman Fabrizio Romano confirms the news. Romano said on his podcast that Kurt Zouma will be signing a new contract with Chelsea.

Recently France manager Didier Deschamps spoke on Zouma’s progress.

There’s competition in every position,” he told reporters during his press conference .

“If I pick him [Zouma], it’s because I think he’s better than others at that position and because of what he’s doing with Chelsea.
