Kyle Kuzma wanting a decent extension from the Lakers

Kyle Kuzma wanting a decent extension from the Lakers

One of the young guns in the experienced roaster of the Los Angeles Lakers is Kyle Kuzma. Surely one of the key supportive figures as to why Lakers found their engine running in the 2019-20 season bubble. From winning matches via buzzer beater shots to making significant blocks, Kuzma has done it all for the LA Lakers. But will the 25-year-old stay the Lakers even during this season?

Although Kuzma’s number have surely taking a backseat ever since Anthony Davis’ arrival at the Lakers. But he still had a good season from the bench averaging more than 15 points per game in the previous season.

Would Kyle Kuzma stay at LA Lakers or will he part ways?

As per an NBA insider, Kuzma fans can hope that he is not going anywhere. Brian Windhorst recently expressed in an interview, “Then you got Kuzma, who is extension eligible, still has a year left on his contract but is extension eligible.”

He further added, “And from what I understand, [he] is expecting a sizable deal, hoping for a sizable deal.”

This is Kuzma’s last year as a rookie on his contract. The Los Angeles side will not want him to enter the free agency. Even when the franchise brought in AD from the Pelicans, they let Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball and Josh Hart go. But held back Kuzma, the latter even has a good relation with marquee players like Lebron James and Anthony Davis.

Having said that, the Lakers desperately need a bigger guard who can assure a great defense when AD and LeBron James are in the offense. It seems more likely than ever that they can let go Kyle to receive either Chris Paul, Derrick Rose, Dennis Schroder, or Spencer Dinwiddie.
