Since the start of the Next-Gen, the biggest complaint made by the drivers and teams in the garage was the reduced horse speed. Almost everyone in the racing community believes increasing the HP is the best way to end the lack of overtaking problem in the garage and makes NASCAR Cup Series racing great again. Kyle Larson seems to agree with these suggestions.
The 2021 Cup champion, before the Kansas Cup race, which he won in an impressive passion, gave his verdict on the topic. Kyle Larson believes with small but significant change to the horsepower; there will be a drastic change to the final product. But NASCAR is hesitant, believed to be because they want to attract a new OEM to the sport.
I don’t know, I think we would be all for trying something new. I don’t know if it’s gonna change the racing drastically or anything. It’s a decent-sized increase but it’s not massive.

Everyone in the garage is open to the change, as the racing has become staler and the change is necessary. Increasing HP to 750, something many drivers like Denny Hamlin has called for will be a good start, unlike making costly change to a 1000 HP or 900 HP engine some among the NASCAR community wants.
I’d be open for it; think we all are. I think it’s gotten a little bit stale — the racing product — so, I think we’re in need of a change to try to help but I don’t know. I think it would be good to start there.
Kyle Larson added.
It’s the additional cost an increase in HP will bring on teams as well as the sanctioning body is making NASCAR hesitant to changes. Mike Forde, NASCAR managing director of racing communications, has recently showed some signs of positivity as he admitted that the sport is considering a possibility of a slight increase.
Kyle Larson gives his verdict on NASCAR new championship final decision
Ahead of the Kansas race weekend, NASCAR announced that they have decided to starts a championship finale rotation from the 2026 season, starting with the iconic venue, Homestead Miami. Many drivers have been calling for the change for a long time, with the Phoenix races being more predictable.

Kyle Larson is one of the many star drivers in the garages that is happy with the change, as he like many would love to see the Team Penske domination come to an end. Though he is happy with the change, the No:5 Chevy driver doesn’t think it isn’t going to make much change as everyone has their own strengths in all the tracks.
Yeah, I think ultimately, I’m just happy to hear that it is going to rotate, I guess Everybody’s good everywhere, so it doesn’t matter a whole lot.
Kyle Larson said.
The comments from the Hendrick Motorsport driver seems to be the perfect response to the change as just as the fans, the driver also needs the change in track. This brings in a bigger challenge for the final four to face in the most decisive day in the title battle.
