Manchester City skipper Kyle Walker recently revealed that manager Pep Guardiola has taken an extreme measure, amid the club’s poor form in recent months. The Spaniard boss has surprisingly called in his squad to train on Christmas holiday.

The defending EPL champions have been experiencing a slump, slipping to the 7th position on the EPL table. Manchester City seem to have fallen out of the title race this season, following their ninth defeat to Aston Villa in the Premier League.

They have only won a single match in the last two months, which was against Nottingham Forest. City’s poor run has put immense pressure on manager Pep Guardiola, and now he has focused his attention towards turning around the club’s dismal form, through some drastic measures.

Manchester City captain Kyle Walker most recently revealed that Guardiola has decided to train his players even on Christmas Day, breaking the existing traditions. The full-back stated that they previously used to spend time off with their families during the Christmas break.

However, the 34-year-old added that the training session has been scheduled to prepare for City’s Boxing Day encounter against Everton. The Boxing Day session may be connected to Man City’s recent run of poor performances.

We’ve been fortunate in the past couple of seasons that we haven’t had to train on Christmas Day. We are doing this season because we’ve got Everton at 12.30 on Boxing Day.

Nonetheless, it remains to be seen whether Pep Guardiola’s side return to their best. They will be aiming to end their losing streak. Manchester City next face Everton, which will be followed by a trip to Leicester City. Meanwhile, they begin the new year with a much-anticipated clash against West Ham.

Manchester City star Kyle Walker to spend Christmas with estranged wife and children

England international Kyle Walker will get an opportunity to spend Christmas with his estranged wife Annie Kilner, and the pair’s four children. The two have decided to put aside their differences and divorce feud, to celebrate the festive season with their family.

Walker, who is often referred to as a ‘love rat’ in the English media, separated from his wife Annie Kilner, following accusations of infidelity. He had secretly fathered a child with former lover, Lauryn Goodman.

Recent reports suggest that the pair might celebrate Christmas together this year. It will be before the right-back joins the Man City squad to prepare for the Boxing Day clash against Everton.

Walker and Kilner are entangled in a legal battle over issues related to sharing the player’s massive £27 million fortune. Annie Kilner has reportedly urged the court to allow her demand half of the defender’s assets. It is stated to be alimony, as a part of their financial divorce.
