Kyler Murray paid the price for frustrating the New York Jets’ defense. Fortunately, the Arizona Cardinals quarterback’s intense training routine has made him extremely durable.
Murray orchestrated two touchdowns in the first quarter in front of a packed Arizona crowd. First set up running back James Conner, and then he walked one by himself, moments before the next quarter began.
Jets debutant kicker Spencer Shrader kept the Jets in the game with two field goals, but the pressure was building on the defense. They allowed Murray close to 150 yards in the first 20 minutes of the game.
On first and ten, around the eight-minute mark in the second quarter, the 27-year-old faced a warning shot from the Jets defensive line. Linebacker Quincy Williams slammed into Murray from his blindside and almost tore him in half. Murray’s helmet went flying because of the impact, and he stayed down on the turf while Williams celebrated a sack.

Kyler Murray pays back the Jets with more misery
Many perceived that after the hit, the Jets would finally wake up and score a few points, but before Aaron Rodgers could do anything, Murray struck again. This time he connected with his favorite target, Marvin Harrison Jr.
Just two minutes later, the Cardinals retrieved the ball from the Jets, and Murray led the attack inside the Gang Green’s ten-yard line. From first and ten, the two-time Pro Bowler looped the ball to the right-hand corner of the endzone for Harrison, who shook off defensive back DJ Reed to score the game’s third touchdown.

After the restart in the third quarter, Kyler scored his second rushing touchdown of the game. With under five minutes left in the quarter, Murray faked a couple of Jets players to score a 12-yard touchdown.
Murray’s resurgence has been a thing to behold for the Cardinals fans. After spending the majority of the last season in rehab, hardly anyone saw the former Sooners starter turn his NFL career around. Last season, the Cardinals finished last in the NFC West with just four wins all season.

In 2024, Jonathan Gannon’s team leads the division with six wins from 10 weeks. A victory over NFC rivals, the Jets, will keep them at the top with the San Francisco 49ers breathing in their neck after they beat the Buccaneers earlier in the day.
Murray, before facing the Jets, had 169 completions through the air for 1792 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions. Additionally, he also rushed 43 times for 350 yards and scored two touchdowns.
