Kylian Mbappe admits to ‘not living up to the hype’ in emotional farewell to fans
Kylian Mbappe has been by far, one of the frontrunners to succeed Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. At the age of 25, the forward had already scored 328 goals in 442 games for both club and country.
However, his unbelievable numbers have seldom come to his rescue in crucial moments. Despite the No.7’s skill being out of this planet, many have questioned his ability to deliver when it matters. The forward was rather disappointing against Borussia Dortmund in their elimination earlier this week from the Champions League semi-final.
In his farewell video to the club’s fans, he admitted to not living up to the ‘hype’ at times. He also added that his biggest ‘thank you’ goes to the fans of the club.
I know I'm not the most demonstrative player. I haven't always lived up to the love you gave me for seven years. But I've never wanted to cheat and always tried to be effective.Kylian Mbappe said in his farewell video to the fans
Despite all the disappointing moments this season, a trophy in his final match will be the perfect farewell possible.
