No footballer has kept the footballing community on its toes the way Kylian Mbappe did in the build-up to his departure from PSG. After several hundreds of rumors and unconfirmed ‘leaks’, Paris Saint-Germain’s beloved No.7 is finally on his way out of the club. After joining from AS Monaco on loan in the 2017/18 season, Mbappe is set to leave PSG at the of the season after six wonderful seasons.

While fans have earlier mentioned that they will not believe Mbappe’s departure until there is official comment, Mbappe himself confirming the same leaves little room for doubt. Yes, the 25-year-old recently released a video of himself announcing that he will part ways with the Parisiens at the end of the season. He clarified that his last game for PSG will be on Sunday and that he will not be extending his contract.

This will be my last year with PSG. The adventure will come to an end in a few weeks. It's a club that I will keep in my memory for the rest of my life. I won't be a player anymore (for PSG), but I'll watch every game.

However, his unbelievable numbers have seldom come to his rescue in crucial moments. Despite the No.7’s skill being out of this planet, many have questioned his ability to deliver when it matters. The forward was rather disappointing against Borussia Dortmund in their elimination earlier this week from the Champions League semi-final.

In his farewell video to the club’s fans, he admitted to not living up to the ‘hype’ at times. He also added that his biggest ‘thank you’ goes to the fans of the club.

I know I'm not the most demonstrative player. I haven't always lived up to the love you gave me for seven years. But I've never wanted to cheat and always tried to be effective.
