Real Madrid have quite literally gone from strength to strength in the last few months. From the arrival of Kylian Mbappe to the addition of Endick, it seems that everything is going a bit too well for Los Blancos. Mbappe got off to a roaring start with his new club, as the player picked up his first trophy in his first-ever game for the club.
Atalanta were no match for Madrid as the UEFA Super Cup kicked off at PGE Narodowy in Warsaw, Poland. Even though the first half proved to be a difficult affair for either side, the second half was the exact opposite. Carlo Ancelotti‘s men proved just why they are the ‘biggest’ team in Europe, as Federico Valverde and Kylian Mbappe grabbed the goals.
The Uruguayan was tasked with the easy job of tapping the ball into an empty net, when a brilliant pass from Vinicius Jr. set him up for the opener. Mbappe then took all the headlines after Jude Bellingham assisted the forward for his first-ever goal in a Real Madrid shirt.
The deafening cheers of the crowd rang through the stadium as Mbappe hit his classic celebration in front of the crowd.
Fans thrilled as Kylian Mbappe wins first trophy in competitive debut for Real Madrid
No Real Madrid fan was silent on social media as Kylian Mbappe was crowned as a UEFA Super Cup champion in front of a packed crowd. A fan immediately commented that this trophy was the first in a long list of accolades that are set to come the Frenchman’s way. Madrid fans also laughed at their rivals for hoping that Atalanta BC would be able to spoil the party for the champions of Europe.
Several rival fans also seemed to accept the fact that Madrid are already favorites for every single competition they are competing in. A hopeless supporter added that clubs like Barcelona and Manchester City shouldn’t even bother competing with them. On the other hand, a few still kept their hopes on Lamine Yamal and his brilliance.
It is interesting to recall how Madrid assembled the Galacticos in the early 2000s but still failed to achieve anything significant. Yamal will be joined by Pau Cubarsi & Fermin Lopez, who are fresh off the historic win against France in the final. Newly appointed manager Hansi Flick also offers a sliver of hope for the Blaugrana. It will be exciting to see how the two biggest clubs in Spain will battle it out on the biggest stage.
