There’s no questioning the animosity between old rivals Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills. In the past few years, every Bills v Chiefs game has become more fierce and strongly contested.

In 2024, the Bills and the Chiefs met for the second time in the season when they squared off at the AFC Divisional Game for the second time in three years. The Bills were the favorites, coming off a sensational win over the Pittsburgh Steelers and a higher seeding in the regular season, granting them the home stadium advantage. The Chiefs, on the other hand, were looking forward to becoming the first team since the 2004 New England Patriots to win back-to-back titles.

The Bills Mafia took over the stadium, but there was some strong support for the Chiefs, including then-Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce. The athlete was there to support his younger brother and Chiefs TE, Travis Kelce, but he had moments of his own. The center, who won his first ring a couple of years back, had also gone viral for antics as he rejoiced with the Buffalonians.

In a recently released episode of her podcast, Not Gonna Lie With Kylie, Jason’s wife, Kylie Kelce, recounted the day and the whole experience. Kylie, who was in Buffalo for the first time, shared that Jason fully embraced the Buffalo culture and vibed with the crowd and the Bills Mafia:

This was my first time in Buffalo. Before that game, we ended up in this little corner bar. I didn’t even end up sitting at the same table as my husband. He was deep in it. All the people in there were lovely. They were so excited to see Jason. They were telling him how much they enjoyed watching him play.

Kylie noted that the fact that the center played for a non-rival team, which is in the NFC conference, might be the reason why a lot of people didn’t find Jason as an intrusion. Jerrod Carmichael, who appeared as a guest on the episode, aptly summed up Kylie’s comment, saying, “He came in peace. It was a diplomacy mission.”

Shirtless suite leap perfectly captures who Jason Kelce is, says Kylie

On the match night, Jason Kelce went viral after he tore his shirt open and even leaped out of his suite where he gelled with the Bills fans. It was a moment of impulsivity, one that screams energetic and full of life.

Jason Kelce delivered one of the most iconic moments on a screen cam, maybe even a close second to the “coldplayed” incident in July 2025. Jason Kelce leaped out of his suite in all his half-naked glory, chugged beers, and bear-hugged people around him. The center, however, couldn’t check all his boxes that night.

The sportscaster and father of four wanted to jump onto a folding table, a staple at the Buffalo Bills game and a tradition among the tailgating Bills Mafia.

However, the Bills went on to lose the game after Tyler Bass failed to convert a game-tying field goal. The Bills lost out 24-27 and recorded their third straight divisional round exit. The moment was almost identical to the 1990 Super Bowl XXV loss for the Bills when Scott Norwood failed to convert a similar field goal.

The Bills and Chiefs have met once more in the playoffs since that day. The Chiefs defeated the Bills 32-29 in the AFC Championship Game early this year. The Chiefs lead the Bills 5-2 in postseason games, with the Bills’ last victory over the Chiefs more than three decades back.
