Kyrie Irving scores season-high while James Harden knocks another triple-double as Nets cool off LA Clippers

The Big 3 of the Brooklyn Nets were up against one of the very best in the league, Los Angeles Clippers. While the LA Clippers managed to lead the Nets on most occasions. Kyrie Irving’s season-high 39 points and James Harden yet another triple-double for the Brooklyn Nets helped them get past LA Clippers. It wasn’t just Irving and Harden who came to the stage, Kevin Durant maintained his consistency by scoring 28-points.
Talking about the LA Clippers, Kawhi Leonard led their scoring charts with 33 points. Whereas Paul George knocked down 26. The Nets ended the Clippers 3-game winning streak. The Clippers have only lost their 2nd game in 12. The Clippers got it down to one in the final seconds before Irving’s free throws closed it out.

“We just matched it tonight,” Kyrie Irving said as per ESPN. “We knew that they were going to bring it, so it was just an exciting game. It was great competition for the top players in the world, some of the top players in the world to go against each other on TV.”
Looking good defensively promised to be difficult against a Los Angeles team that came in leading the NBA in 3-point percentage. The Clippers finished 15 for 36, right at their average of 41.7%, but Irving hit six behind the arc and the Nets got the stops they needed for their sixth straight home victory.
“Once we get that down pat defensively, you’re talking about blowing teams out,” James Harden said, “Because offensively we’ll continue to figure it out. Defensively, we have to figure it out. That’s what it has to be in order for us to be playing at the end.”
