The city of Los Angeles is currently going through a troubling situation. A massive wildfire is raging in Los Angeles, specifically in the Pacific Palisades area has left the city in havoc. On Wednesday, the Los Angeles Kings penned down a heartfelt message to first responders after their game against the Calgary Flames got postponed.
The Palisades Fire, which started on January 7, 2025, has started to spread rapidly across the city, leading to mass evacuation. A state of emergency has been declared in the city.
Given this situation, the Los Angeles Kings announced that their game at the Crypto.com Arena against the Flames has been postponed. While informing about this decision on social media, the Kings paid their tribute to the first responders, who have been trying their best to ease the situation.

This was supposed to be the first half of a home-and home series between the two teams. With the game now postponed, a later date for the game has not been announced yet.
In the earlier meeting this season in November, the Flames won the game 3-1 at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary.

The ongoing Los Angeles wildfire has left many people in the state of shock. As the governing bodies try to evucate people to safety, an ex-Calgary Flames star’s wife has shared some disheartening images of the incident on social media.
Taking to her Instagram account, Candace Bure, wife of Valeri Bure, shared some pictures. In one post, she shared the devastating image of the huge fire spreading across the city. She would urge people to pray for the winds to die down.
In another post, she shared a similar image of the fire destroying the Palisades area. Through the caption, she expressed her sorrow towards the ongoing event.
Speaking of other sports, the NBA and the NFL are set to be monitoring the situation closely. With the NFL playoffs set to commence soon, the league is looking at the events in LA as both the Chargers and Rams have made it to the postseason. The Rams are currently scheduled to take on the Minnesota Vikings at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California on Monday.
