The latest episode of SmackDown saw a fresh arrival as Damian Priest made his way to the blue brand through the transfer window. However, his appearance was anything but smooth, as he was immediately confronted by Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga, who made it clear who runs the show. Tensions quickly escalated into a brawl, prompting LA Knight to rush in and even the odds.

The two babyfaces then teamed up to take on the Samoans in a tag match in the main event. At one point during this bout, Jacob Fatu found himself leaning against the barricade. Knight got out of the ring and started charging towards him. However, he slipped on the outside and almost fell. Thankfully, he was able to regain his composure and went crashing over the barricade alongside the Samoan Werewolf.

After Knight sent Fatu over the timekeeper’s barricade, Tonga was seen stalking Damian Priest inside the ring. However, the Archer of Infamy was able to turn him around and hit him with a South of Heaven Chokeslam. This allowed him to get the pinfall victory for his team.

Knight has already made it clear that he is no fan of The Bloodline or its former members. The Samoan faction, no matter who was a part of it, has been a major pain for him since 2023. A few weeks ago on SmackDown, he even aggressively kicked Fatu out of the arena.

LA Knight talks about returning to TNA amidst the promotion’s partnership with WWE

Long before he was The Megastar, LA Knight was a staple in TNA. He was known as Eli Drake and accomplished multiple accolades during his time with the company. During an interview on Conversations With The Classic, the 42-year-old was asked if he ever had any plans of returning to his former promotion.

Knight said that he was not aware of any such plans in the near future. However, one could never say never in this business. The SmackDown superstar did think that the partnership between WWE and TNA was pretty cool. Something like this was totally unprecedented. In his eyes, TNA had been a distant number two to WWE for a long time.

I mean, I don’t know of any plans to do so. I guess never say never. At the same time, my thoughts are it’s about five years too late. It should have happened when I was there. Then we could have done crossover stuff. But yeah, I don’t know.

If all parties agree on such a crossover, Knight making an appearance in TNA isn’t too far-fetched. After all, WWE superstars like Cora Jade and Fraxiom even appeared at the recent TNA Genesis PPV. The Defiant One is indeed correct in saying that this partnership is an example of how the industry has changed.
