LA Knight Garnered Praise from Triple H for Making Seth Rollins’ Knee Injury Ruse Look Real

The WWE Chief Content Officer was quite appreciative of how LA Knight sold the Seth Rollins injury angle at Saturday Night's Main Event last year.

LA Knight played an equally important role as Seth Rollins did in making his knee injury seem real. ‘The Visionary’ apparently buckled his knee after having an abrupt-looking landing off the springboard-assisted moonsault at SNME in July 2025. In exclusive season 2 footage of WWE Unreal as seen below, Triple H could be heard yelling to clear out the gorilla position to make way for Rollins.

‘The Architect’ was hobbling and assisted by referees to sell the injury. After Rollins was taken into the doctor’s room, the backstage ambience reeked of havoc, with anonymous voices saying it was weird back there. The cameras cut to Triple H, who lauded LA Knight for playing his part perfectly.

The WWE CCO affirmed that The Megastar’s facial expressions were so on-point to a degree that it forced the audience to be on the fence with its judgment of whether it was a work or shoot. Knight felt that the closing to his match with Rollins fell flat. However, as per his assessment of it, that’s exactly how it should’ve gone down to make the fans believe that ‘The Visionary’ was actually injured.

Triple H decided to keep this angle extremely close to the vest. Only a handful of members of the creative team were aware of it, and the roster was not privy at all. ‘Hunter’, however, did make Cody Rhodes cognizant of what was going to happen in that Rollins/Knight match. ‘The Cerebral Assassin’ thought it was necessary to smarten up “their top guy” but asked Rhodes to keep it to himself only.

LA Knight missed a cue during the closing moments of last year’s MITB ladder match

In another excerpt from WWE Unreal Season 2, the underwhelming ending to last year’s Money in the Bank ladder match was discussed. LA Knight and Seth Rollins were involved in the dying minutes. As one could see below, ‘The Megastar’ pulled Rollins down from the ladder and clobbered him with a clothesline. It was Knight’s turn to climb, but as he did so, Rollins caught the Maryland native and pulled him down.

The former Vision leader sent Knight’s back of the head first into the ladder, stomped him out, and made that sluggish climb to the top to unhook that dangling MITB briefcase. That’s not how it was supposed to end. WWE producer Abyss revealed that the ending sequence was laid out in a way that would’ve seen Knight and Rollins duking it out on the top of the ladder with both superstars struggling to grab the contract.

The said producer was confident about fans reacting in a more passionate and engaging way had it been that way. However, LA Knight had missed a cue, for which he received upfront feedback from Triple H himself. ‘The Game’ explained what had been originally discussed as opposed to what actually happened out there.

Chris Park, aka Abyss, who was the producer for the match, later apologized to ‘The Game’. The latter, however, told Abyss that it wasn’t his fault at all. The 14-time world champion asserted that a producer could only do so much with what’s supposed to be their job. Once the wrestlers go out live in front of the fans, it’s up to them to do their part.

Many fans have pointed out how disheartened Knight was looking in that moment when ‘The King of King’ held him aside for a quick brush-up on what went wrong. The fans were largely in LA Knight’s support for him to become Mr. Money in the Bank 2025. ‘The Defiant One’ couldn’t make it for the third straight year, even when he seemed like the most deserving candidate for the briefcase.
