LA Lakers emerge from 22 point deficit to win big against Grizzlies

Anthony Davis and LeBron James lead the LA Lakers past Memphis Grizzlies. After falling behind by 22-points in the first quarter, Grizzlies seemed to be on the offensive front. LA Lakers go off to a slow start in the first quarter and were underscored 31-16 by the away team. But before going into the half, Lakers bounced back to outplay Grizzlies 30-28.
Anthony Davis scored 35, whereas LeBron James had 28 points. Kyle Kuzma played a huge role with his double-double including 20 points and 10 rebounds for the defending champions. Davis returned after a 2-match absence and fell 2-points shy to make his season-high score. The Memphis Grizzlies hit 12 3-pointers after making a franchise-record 23 against Charlotte two nights earlier.

Talking particularly about the Grizzlies players, Ja Morant had 22 points and 10 assists and Jonas Valanciunas had 22 points and eight rebounds in the Grizzlies’ fifth loss in six games. Memphis is winless in three meetings with the Lakers this season.
Memphis opened the game with a 22-2 run, humiliating the champions in the first six minutes. The Lakers had their fourth straight terrible start on their homestand, but they took their first lead late in the third quarter.
Alex Caruso had two points and six assists in his return from a two-game absence with a hand injury. Harrell left the court early in the fourth quarter after a collision with Kuzma, but returned to the bench later.
Having said that, LA Lakers face the Denver Nuggets next before meeting the Brooklyn Nets in the season’s mega blockbuster game. Whereas Memphis Grizzlies will square off against Sacramento Kings.
