La Liga: Sevilla vs Valencia Player ratings as Sevilla triumph over Valencia with a 3-1 win
Sevilla defeated Valencia CF by three goals to one in the La Liga on Wednesday night. Rafa Mir and Alejandro Gomez scored for Sevilla whereas Hugo Duro scored once again for Valencia. Toni Lato conceded an unfortunate own goal. Sevilla are currently third in the league table behind Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid CF. They have secured eleven points in five games so far.
Here are the player ratings for both the teams :
Sevilla
Bono (6/10)- A decent performance from the Sevilla goalkeeper tonight. Apart from that unlucky deflected shot he didn’t do much wrong.
Gonzalo Montiel (6/10)- The defender combined well with his teammate Jules Kounde and hardly let the Valencia forwards with a sniff.
Jules Koundé (7/10)- A good commanding performance from the French international who looked uncastled throughout the game.
Diego Carlos (6/10)-The centre back was unlucky with the goal from Hugo Duro which caught the deflection off him.
Karim Rekik (6/10)- The Dutch defender managed to create some space for Lucas Ocampos in the first half but the shot from the forward was off target.
Joan Jordán (6/10)- Created a good opportunity for Diego Carlos who mistimed his header from the centre of the box.
Fernando (5/10)- Didn’t have his A game tonight and then had to be substituted in the second half after an injury.
Alejandro Gómez (8/10)- Opened the scoring for Sevilla in just the third minute of the match with a firm right shot.
Erick Lamela(8/10)- Lamela provided the crucial pass which led to the first goal by Gomez.
Rafa Mir (8/10)- Rafa Mir registered the second goal after great build up play by Sevilla to chip it over the onrushing Mamardashvilli.
Lucas Ocampos(6/10)- The speedy winger didn’t have his best game tonight but was troubling the Valencia defenders continuously.
Substitutes
Youssef En-Neysri (6/10)- Immediately after replacing Rafa Mir , Youssef En-Neysri had a shot at goal with his header from a cross off Eric Lamela.
Jesus Navas (6/10)- The forward came on for defender Gonzalo Montiel as Sevilla looked to attack more.
Ivan Rakitic (6/10)- The former Barcelona midfielder took the field for Joan Jordán. Rakitic missed a good chance with his right footed shot going wide.
Thomas Delaney (5/10)- Thomas Delaney was brought on to replace forward Lucas Ocampos. Tried a through ball but Karim Reikk was caught offside.
Nemanja Gudelj (5/10) –Gudelj came on to replace the injured Fernando in the second half.
Valencia
Giori Mamardashvili (5/10)- The Goalkeeper’s judgement was extremely poor today which led to the second goal.
Dimitri Foulquier (6/10)- The defender had a crack at goal early on in the beginning of the second half but his shot was straight down the line.
Gabriel Paulista (5/10)- Another poor performance from the defender who is finding the going tough in Spain.
Omar Alderete(5/10)- Not a convincing performance from the defender who made some rash tackles and got himself booked in the first half.
Toni Lato (5/10)- A horrible day in the field for Toni Lato who conceded the own goal in the first half after some confusion in communication with his goalkeeper.
Jason (5/10)- Jason was played on the right of the four man midfield tonight but didn’t manage to contribute to the attacking play.
Daniel Wass(5/10)- Daniel Wass was not at all good tonight. Sloppy in possession and hardly any creative output.
Hugo Guillamón (5/10)- an underwhelming show from the midfielder whose only contribution was assisting Gomez’s shot which was saved.
Hugo Duro (8/10)- Hugo Duro continued his good goal scoring form scoring ij consecutive matches. His low shot deflected off Diego Carlos and went into the net.
Maximiliano Gómez (6/10)- The forward has good chemistry with Hugo Duro and created a shooting opportunity for the latter whose shot was blocked.
Gonçalo Guedes (6/10)- Tried to create the attacking play for Valencia and drew fouls by the Sevilla defenders.
Substitutes
Mouctar Diakhby (6/10)- Mouctar Diakhaby had his attempt saved after a cross from Guedes found him in the box.
Manu Vallejo (5/10)- Manu Vallejo the striker took the field in place of goalscorer Hugo Duro.
Koba Koindredi(5/10)-Koindredi came on in a like for like substitution with midfielder Daniel Wass.
Yunus Musah (6/10)- Musah replaced Jason who was making some bad tackles and the Valencia coach took good measure.
