TikTok is officially gone in the USA. 170 million American users are in a panic when the ban officially takes effect after weeks of rumors and conjecture. NBA legend Dwight Howard, who has been vocal about the decision, is among those who have been shook by the news. Howard made his feelings known on social media regarding this decision.
The former Los Angeles Lakers star man has been a long-time user of the famous platform, among other American citizens. TikTok was a platform to make funny memes and express oneself, showcasing their various talents in front of the camera. As per reports, the popular short-form video app has long been a source of concern for U.S. officials who think it may be used for espionage.

Congress took action last year to compel TikTok’s Chinese parent firm, ByteDance. This was to sell its share of the app or face exclusion from the U.S. market. This was following years of warnings from lawmakers and U.S. authorities about the alleged national security threats posed by the program’s ties to China. Given that, the app is now officially banned in the nation.
Aside from this, Howard and the rest of the US citizens would likely have to find an alternative to TikTok. There are many apps like X, Instagram, and Facebook for people to use. However, there have been rumors that popular businessman Elon Musk is looking to buy TikTok for a good deal. Only time will tell if TikTok gets sold or not.
Dwight Howard upset about exclusion from the NBA Top 75 team
Dwight Howard doesn’t hold back when speaking. Following his unexpected exclusion from the NBA Top 75 squad, Howard blamed Shaquille O’Neal for keeping him off the esteemed list.
A fan recently enquired about what he thought regarding his absence from the NBA Top 75 squad during a conversation with his followers on X (previously Twitter). As expected, Howard did not sidestep the query.

This was a subtle dig towards O’Neal. For context, Howard and O’Neal do not see eye-to-eye in and around the sport. They have a longstanding beef, mostly because O’Neal feels Howard robbed him of his ‘Superman’ title back in their heyday. Hence, Howard seemed to target O’Neal for him not being included in the NBA Top 75 team.
