Dalton Knecht shares his thoughts

Los Angeles Lakers’ notable move this offseason was drafting Dalton Knecht in the first round of the NBA draft as the 17th pick. The young star from Tennessee has shown signs of great promise and can be a future superstar for the Lakers.

During an interview, the young Lakers star was asked a set of rapid-fire questions. During which he picked Kevin Durant as the best NBA player of all time. Also, he said that the Denver Nuggets are the best team in the NBA. As he is from Tennessee it is not surprising why he picked the Nuggets as the best team.

As Knecht is from the younger generation of the NBA he has seen Nikola Jokic and Nuggets dominate the NBA in the previous years. However, he picked Kevin Durant over Nikola Jokic as the best player in the NBA. He also called Durant one of the best scorers the NBA has ever seen.

The interview took place after the Lakers drafted Knecht and it is good to see that his true self picked LeBron’s James greatest rivals as the best player. Knecht is a great scorer and averaged 21.7 points in his college days. He will be a great asset to the Lakers’ scoring.

Tennessee star and the 17th overall pick of the Los Angeles Lakers Dalton Knecht officially signed his rookie contract. He signed a four-year $18.4 million deal with the Lakers. Knecht was considered a top-ten pick in the draft but went down 16 picks on draft night because he was 23 years old.

After signing his deal, Knecht attended his rookie press conference with Bronny James and GM Rob Pelinka. He addressed the number change as he had played with number 3 all his life. Lakers star, Anthony Davis wears that number and so Knecht had to shift to number 4. He also talked about his path in the NBA and said he was destined to play in the NBA.

Knecht has a bright future in the NBA and has the potential to be the next big superstar in the future. The Lakers are excited with their new draft picks and wait to see what they have in store. Knecht will be seen playing in the summer league on July 6.
