In a new series, ‘Running Point’ by Mindy Kaling, they have managed to cast Los Angeles Lakers superfan Brenda Song. The Hollywood actress won over Lakers fans after dissing their rival team, the Boston Celtics.

Brenda Song and the cast of Running Point sat down with Netflix during the press tour of their series. During the rapid fire round, Kate Hudson timed 20 seconds before asking the team to name famous NBA players.

The entire cast seemed well-versed as names kept coming, with Song naming some of her favorites, however, limiting herself to Lakers athletes. Post the round, the actress quipped that she could not think of Celtics’ athletes because they ‘did not exist’ for her. “So I think of Lakers first. I can’t do Celtics, they don’t exist for me,” stated Brenda Song.

Brenda Song’s admiration towards the NBA and specifically the Lakers is not run-of-the-mill, rather a longstanding phenomenon. The Sweet Life of Zack and Cody actress previously shared that she owned a life-size cut-out of Kobe Bryant in her early days of career. Her love for the Black Mamba was displayed on several occasions.

She also bought her “prized possession”, a championship ring with her name on it. Her level of support for the organization exceeds the boundaries ‘seldom would call healthy’, per Song herself. Back in January, she also joined the Lakers’ home base to support them against the Boston Celtics. The actress was accompanied by Macaulay Culkin.
