The Utah Jazz recently played against the Los Angeles Lakers, which proved to be a thrilling spectacle for NBA fans worldwide. The Lakers escaped with a narrow 105-104 win after a blunder from the Jazz head coach, Will Hardy. The Lakers are now (12-8) in the NBA and sit in 6th place on the table in the Western Conference.

Hardy’s blunder came barely two seconds remaining in the game. Before Colin Sexton completed what may have been the game-winning drive to the basket, the Jazz head coach called a timeout. This sent the NBA world into a frenzy, blaming Hardy for the poor loss. Sexton’s reaction also was justified as he did not understand his coach’s decision to call a timeout with seconds remaining on the clock.

Many fans reacted to this particular play. One fan wrote on X, “THIS IS THE DEFINTION OF TANKING,” regarding Hardy’s blunder. It was a confusing choice on Hardy’s part. To call a timeout while his team takes the ball up the court, it would seem reasonable to assume that the head coach would arrive at half-court with three or four seconds left.

However, Hardy was late in this case and caused his side the game. As for the Lakers, With a triple-double of 33 points, 11 assists, 10 rebounds, and two steals, Anthony Davis maintained his stellar season. LeBron James scored 27 points (12-28 FG), dished out 14 assists, pulled down five rebounds, and blocked two shots in a respectable comeback performance.

The NBA community did not believe what they witnessed in a normal league matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers vs the Utah Jazz. With seconds remaining, Jazz player Colin Sexton drove in the Lakers’ paint and made the game-winning basket as they trailed by one point. However, just before Sexton converted the basket, his head coach Will Hardy called for a timeout.

They re-signed Lauri Markkanen to a huge deal in the winter, so maybe they would start looking for trades and concentrate on building around him. They are (4-16) as of yet in the NBA this season.
