Dallas Mavericks might have done the tall Slovenian dirty, but Luka Doncic still holds a love for Big D and the Dallas Cowboys. In his latest press conference, Doncic had a big smile while referring to the Cowboys’ impressive come-from-behind over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.

Doncic, who was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers to bring in Anthony Davis earlier this year by the Mavs, has adjusted to the Lakers’ rhythm. The Slovenian was speaking to the press following the Lakers’ 108-106 win over the Utah Jazz. He registered 33 points, 11 rebounds, and eight assists in the game.

“Did you see the Cowboys,” Doncic asked the reporter while closing out his presser. He even had a big smirk on his face, like a proud fan.

The Cowboys were quite impressive in the outing. The defense, which has lacked a certain lethal edge following the exit of linebacker Micah Parsons, was able to hold the defending champions scoreless in almost the entirety of the final three quarters. The Cowboys scored 24 unanswered points on the Eagles and concluded with a game-winning field goal from Brandon Aubrey to finish their business in Week 12.

Dak Prescott and George Pickens put up exceptional numbers for the Cowboys. Prescott completed 23-of-36 passes and threw for 354 yards and 2 touchdowns, and an interception. He also rushed for a touchdown.

Pickens, who was coming off a sensational game against the Las Vegas Raiders last week, was targeted by Prescott nine times for 146 yards, which included one touchdown reception. He and Prescott joined forces in the last minutes for a 23-yard pass and ultimately paved the way for the field goal that won them the game.

The win also meant that the Cowboys playoffs hopes are alive and well. They’re 5-5-1 and second in the NFC East. Nonetheless, the Cowboys will need to pick at least two more wins to rank in the playoffs spots.

Luka Doncic makes his case for the season’s MVP

The former Dallas boy is all about Los Angeles now, and he’s doing it almost perfectly. In yet another night of his excellence, the Ljubljana-native finished with 33 points and 8 assists. The points against the Utah Jazz took his season total to 414 points in just 12 appearances.

He also crossed the 100-assist mark, finishing the game with 107 so far in the tournament. The double milestone of 400 points and 100 assists in 12 games is a new record in the NBA, something that even the greats couldn’t do.

Following the win against the Jazz, the Lakers are third in the Eastern Conference with a 12-4 record. The game was nothing like their previous meeting at the Crypto.com Arena. The Jazz really worked the Lakers in the final minutes, outscoring their opponents 17-5 with three minutes to go. Although they reached in one point-deficit at the end, Doncic sank a free throw on the next possession while the Jazz failed to convert their game-winning three-pointer over the Lakers’ defense.

The Lakers now return home for their next four matches and are 4-2 at home. With no travel for sometime and key players returning, the Lakers are charging ahead as the Pacific Division leaders. They are also considered serious title contenders as Doncic continues to break havoc in the games and break records while crossing off milestones every other week.
