Lakers owner Jeanie Buss declares LeBron James the ‘greatest of all-time’ in NBA history
Lakers owner, Jeanie Buss declares LeBron James the greatest NBA player of all time after witnessing his dominant performance in the Olympics.
LeBron James and Jeanie Buss
The NBA’s GOAT debate never ends as the battle between LeBron James and Michael Jordan continues to pit one against the other. Taking the side of LeBron James, as expected, is Lakers owner, Jeanie Buss, as she made her pick known during a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times.
During the interview, she asserted that LeBron James is the greatest player of all time after she watched him help Team USA conquer the world at the just concluded Summer Olympics game. In the process winning his third Olympic gold medal title to his already impressive career wins.
It’s definitely gonna be an interesting season for sure. I mean, LeBron, the way he played at the Olympics? He might be the greatest of all time...consistently delivers… puts in the work.Jeanie Buss on The Los Angeles Times
Her leadership has seen the Lakers make the transition from an era led by the late Kobe Bryant to the present era, led by LeBron James. During this period, she oversaw, albeit with a hands-on approach, the Lakers’ 17th NBA title, during the bubble with King James leading the way.
Although the Lakers roster that dominated during their winning season was broken, they still boast a talented young roster. Moreover, with James not showing any sign of slowing down, the Lakers can still be competitive in the hotly contested NBA western conference as well as the league overall.
The statement comes only a few days after Buss was seen with Jordan for Tequila Cincoro’s 5th-anniversary celebrations in New York. The two founded the brand back in 2019 along with Wes Edens (Milwaukee Bucks), Emilia Fazzalari, and Wyc Grousbeck (Boston Celtics).
Jeanie Buss responds to Los Angeles Lakers critics
The Los Angeles Lakers were expected to add a third star to complement the services of LeBron James and Anthony Davis. But they have failed to do so, as they have lost signing Klay Thompson, who chose the Dallas Mavericks instead.
In response to the criticism, Jeanie Buss in a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, asserts her belief that the Lakers still have what it takes to succeed in the NBA. A statement, most fans would find contradictory as they have one of the weakest teams in the league.
We do the work. We worry about what we can control and let the work speak for itself.Jeanie Buss to the LA Time
Furthermore, her time with the Purple and Gold has seen her take a behind-the-scenes role, leaving the running of the team to trusted GM, Rob Pelinka. While on paper, the Lakers have the weakest roster, the presence of All-Stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis still brings the fear factor to the league.
