“LeBron gets another coach fired” – Lakers part ways with coach Darvin Ham and fans rejoice decision from franchise
Darvin Ham leaves the franchise after two seasons with a 90-74 record.
Los Angeles Lakers fire head coach Darvin Ham after two seasons of failing to win a championship with LeBron James
The Los Angeles Lakers have parted ways with head coach Darvin Ham after two seasons in what was an inevitable decision. Considering how everything transpired over this past year, no wonder Lakers fans are rejoicing as they feel their franchise has heard their voice. They feel Ham’s decisions and inability to lead the team cost LeBron James and his teammates a chance at a championship.
With the way the season was progressing, many fans felt that Ham was already on the hot seat. Therefore, the only chance was if the playoffs went well. Which means an NBA title.
However, they fell extremely short of that goal by almost getting swept for the second season in a row by the Denver Nuggets. However, this time, it was in the 1st round. Not a position a Los Angeles Lakers head coach wants to be in.
Therefore, earlier today, the most storied franchise in NBA history came out with a message on their official media channels thanking Darvin Ham for his contributions in these last two seasons. However, what was telling in that message was his record of 90-74.
A record that can never sit right with the team in purple and gold. Hence, now they start their search for their next head coach. Someone who they will expect to take to the promised land. That person also has to be someone who their fans would respect.
Lakers fans rejoice as the franchise listens to them and fires Darvin Ham
Los Angeles Lakers fans are a proud bunch. Proud of their dominating history in which they missed the playoffs only 11 times in their 75+ years of existence in the NBA. Therefore, they felt that Ham had underachieved and did not inspire any more confidence in them to try for a championship. It has to be noted that as LeBron James ages, the Championship window keeps closing down.
No wonder as soon as the news broke out, fans took to social media to rejoice in this decision. Check out some of those reactions below:
Moving on to the future, fans will be waiting to watch who the Los Angeles Lakers hire to become their next head coach. With the goal of a championship, anything less and they will be wanting someone else’s head.
