The Boston Celtics fans are on cloud nine as they just claimed their 18th title after 16 long years. Knowing the fanbase, the people of the city are incredibly passionate about their teams and will never fail to let others know about their achievements. A dedicated fan did just that as he ran into the Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves.

With their win against the Dallas Mavericks, the Celtics passed the Lakers to have the most championships in NBA history. As the fans are in a celebratory mood, Austin Reaves became the victim of taunting at the Good Good Midwest Open. The guard was on a golf cart when he decided to fist-bump some fans on the way. But the fan did not miss out on the chance to troll Reaves.

Reaves was stunned by the unexpected jibe as he hilariously turned around to look back at the fan in disbelief. The Los Angeles Lakers star then acknowledged that the moment was recorded and stated to keep it. That was not all. A fan also later asked about his thoughts on the Boston Celtics finals appearance.

However, this time, Reaves had the chance to respond as he simply answered, no. Reaves must be upset, as the Celtics and the Lakers have been competitors for a long time. Unlike Boston, the Lakers’ journey this postseason was short, as they were almost swept in the first round. Witnessing his reaction, Reaves was certainly bitter about the Celtics’ success.

Austin Reaves wanted the Dallas Mavericks to defeat the Boston Celtics

When the Mavericks won the Western Conference finals, many fans, especially the Lakers’ supported the team to beat the Celtics. The fans wanted the Celtics to lose, considering the historic rivalry between the Lakers and Boston. However, the players are also not very different, as Reaves chose the same path.

During a Zoom call with reporters earlier this month, Reaves was asked his prediction for the winner between the Celtics and Mavericks. The 26-year-old showed his loyalty to the purple and gold team as he chose Dallas to defeat Boston.

To Reaves and Lakers fans’ disappointment, the Celtics dominated the Mavericks in the finals. The team looked unstoppable and ended the series in five games. Considering the fans’ celebrations so far, it seems that Reaves and the team’s other opponents have to face the taunting for a while.
