When the names LeBron James and Dillon Brooks are placed in the same sentence, it usually means either one or both had a war of words or were resorting to antics to shake someone off their focus.
Generally, the Phoenix Suns star is the aggressor, trying to instigate and antagonize the oldest player in the league, as he has done quite a few times in the past.
When he was with the Memphis Grizzlies, Brooks ended up getting trolled heavily after the Lakers defeated them in the playoffs, with James bringing his A game.
Then with the Rockets, it was more about some war of words than anything else. Then, at the beginning of this month, the 29-year-old decided to speak up again.
That may have reached the King’s ears, as in their latest game, he was not backing down. Dillon Brooks tried to use his bump-and-grind tactics to try to unsettle the Lakers’ superstar.
In retaliation, LeBron James gave back in kind, pushing and shoving the Suns star, which eventually led to some foul calls. Then, in the 3rd quarter, as Brooks tried to get a shot off before the clock ran out, the Lakers’ star blocked it.
In retaliation, the home team star probably said something, which led James to respond with some words of his own. When officials noticed they were chest-bumping, they ran to separate the two.

So did other Lakers players, who had to hold their veteran teammate back, as he kept on ranting about what just happened. However, as he tried to go after Brooks, officials slapped him with a technical foul.
LeBron James bumps into Dillon Brooks on 3-point play
If anyone hoped that the technical foul would stop LeBron James from going after Dillon Brooks, they were wrong. The father of 3 did not care for optics or specifics, as he kept on trash-talking the Suns’ star all the way.
Then, with his Lakers still leading, Brooks tried to have the last laugh, pulling off a 27-foot 3-pointer, which gave the home team a 1-point lead with just 12 seconds to go.
However, as he waited for his shot to go through, James bumped into Brooks, leaving the forward crashing to the floor. Since no foul was called, the Canadian threw his fists in the air, got up, and went towards the all-time leading scorer and bumped chests again.

James pretended to be the victim, and feigned as if he was bumped intentionally by Dillon Brooks. As soon as officials saw this, they separated the two and ended up ejecting the latter.
LeBron James has the last laugh after getting Dillon Brooks ejected
LeBron James used all the wisdom he garnered in his 23 years in the NBA to play victim and get Dillon Brooks ejected. After all, he is the Phoenix Suns’ best perimeter defender, and the Lakers needed all the advantage they could think of.

Once the commotion settled, and the visitors had taken possession of the ball, Luka Doncic pulled out of a 3-point shot and passed it to his oldest teammate.
James immediately pulled up for a 3-pointer, but it clanked off the rim. However, Devin Booker was called for a foul for ending up in the 4-time champion’s shooting space, and also touching him before the shot reached the basket.
The 4-time league MVP missed his 1st free throw. But then shot his next two, which were enough to get the Los Angeles Lakers back in the win column after embarrassingly exiting the NBA Cup quarterfinals against the San Antonio Spurs.
