LaLiga: Mallorca vs Barcelona player ratings as a 1-0 win takes Barcelona to fifth place
Mallorca vs Barcelona: Barcelona have been having a tough time trying to do something eventful and make changes in the way they perform in LaLiga. In that process, they’ve failed on numerous occasions.
However, Barcelona open and begin 2022 with a comfortable win over Mallorca. Luuk de Jong scored a magnificent goal that granted Barca the all important three points and helped them climb up to the top 5.
With that, let’s have a look at how the players performed.

Mallorca
Manolo Reina (GK) (6.7/10) : Manolo made some good saves to keep the momentum going for Mallorca. However, he couldn’t manage to keep away the goal by Luuk de Jong and hence lost the match and the clean sheet.
Pablo Maffeo (6.3/10) : A below average and one of the least impactful performance by Pablo Maffeo.
Franco Russo (6.5/10) : Franco did brilliantly well at Intercepting and clearing the ball. However, he failed at winning any kinds of duels and lost a lot of possession.
Martin Valjent (6.4/10) : Martin was around all the time passing the ball and ensuring the ball doesn’t go away from Mallorca. However, he impacted the least to the side.
Jaume Costa (6.6/10) : A very unlucky game for Jaume Costa. He had a good shot on target but was saved by the keeper quite comfortably. He missed out on a big goal scoring opportunity.
Iddrisu Baba (6.4/10) : Iddrisu had just the one on target attempt to play around which he couldn’t convert as it was easily saved by the goalkeeper. Overall, a below average performance.
Rodrigo Battaglia (7.2/10) : Rodrigo did a really brilliant today. He made a magnificent off the line clearence that certainly made the crowd go wild. He also had a shy at goal but he was off target on attempting.
Lee Kang-in (6.8/10) : Kang-in wasn’t the best at passing but he failed to be more accurate at it. Kang-in had a brilliant chance to get a goal but unfortunately, he couldn’t convert.
Dani Rodríguez (7.7/10) : Dani was really quick with his feet. He won quite a few ground duels following some good tackles. He was exceptionally well at passing the ball around and made four key passes over-all.
Antonio Sánchez (6.6/10) : A pretty average day on the field for Antonio Sánchez. He lost possession quite a few times but was even bad at passing and it’s accuracy.
Ángel Rodríguez (6.5/10) : Apart from an off target attempt at goal, Angel Rodriguez has something currently that was helping, especially their toilets.

Marc-André ter Stegen (GK) (7.5/10) : Ter Stegen did a magnificent job with the gloves for Barcelona to keep the ball away from the box and earn that clean sheet after a rough last month.
Óscar Mingueza (7.4/10) : Oscar made a brilliant assist in the first half of the match to Luuk de Jong, who took that assist quite comfortably and finished in the back of the head to get the lead to Barcelona. Oscar had a brilliant game overall as he contributed quite well whilst being one of the most active players on the field.
Gerard Piqué (8.5/10) : The Barcelona skipper played exceptionally well overall. He made some valuable clearences followed by blocking one too many incoming goal attempt shots. He was one to not be shy of ground and Aerial duels and he went on to win almost every duel. He also had a couple of tries at goal but couldn’t convert.
Ronald Araújo (7.3/10) : Araújo was really up and running in the whole game as his gameplay created a big goals scoring chance for Barcelona. He was one non hesitant player when it came to duels and he won all duels he came across with passion.
Eric Garcia (7.5/10) : Garcia had a wonderful time out in the middle. He contributed well in the defence and followed that by doing his job in the midfield on occasions and earned a healthy passing rate.
Nico González (6.9/10) : Not one of the best games for Nico. His confidence seemed to have shaken on the field as he lost posession quite a few times. He had just an off target attempt and a couple of ground duel wins. Tough game.
Frenkie de Jong (7.3/10) : Frenkie played a vital role in the defence, including his four major clearences. He was there for Barcelona throughout the game, passing the ball around accurately and ensured that good gameplay was a must.
Riqui Puig (7.1/10) : Over-all, Riqui Puig had contributed in every department of the game. He had a decent enough contribution in the defence. He had a shy at goal but was off target on attempt. He did seem to do an average job at duels as he was a little off while play.
Ilias Akhomach (7.7/10) : Ilias did everything in his capability and created a huge goal scoring chance for Barcelona. He had earned himself two on target attempts at goal but neither of them finished in the back of the net.
Luuk de Jong (7.1/10) : Luuk de Jong scored a beautiful goal in the first-half to make it 1-0 for Barcelona. Throughout his game, Luuk had one on target and four off target attempts off which two of them were two huge chances missed and two hit woodwork. Very unlucky day for him.
Ferran Jutglà (6.7/10) : The forward could just earn himself one attempt at goal which was off target. He barely made an impact to the side and was finding it difficult to contribute as well.
