In an electrifying season debut at Arrowhead Stadium, the Baltimore Ravens narrowly fell to the defending Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, by a score of 27-20. Lamar Jackson, the starting QB of the Ravens, feels that the game was marred by last-minute chaos and controversy which could have altered the outcome.
On the last play, QB Lamar Jackson ran around and found TE Isaiah Likely in the endzone as the clock struck out. It appeared as if the game was leaning towards the Ravens’ fortune as they aimed to make a two-point conversion and secure a win.
Considering it was the last two minutes and a scoring play, the touchdown was reviewed. On review, it was eventually found that Isaiah Likely’s right toes were just out of bounds. The referees announced it as an incomplete pass, leading to a Chiefs’ victory over the Ravens. There were multiple other incidents involving the referees during the game.
Jackson could not understand how the game and the result was overturned. In the press conference, he asserted that it was a touchdown. He further emphasized that he thinks that it was a touchdown despite the game getting over.
I thought it was a touchdown. I still think it was a touchdown.Lamar Jackson said in the press conference

Likely, on the other hand, took responsibility for the incident. He said that the last-minute mess-up was on him. He further stated that he is supposed to have his feet in the zone and he didn’t do it, hence taking responsibility for the loss.
Lamar Jackson shut down the Chiefs his kryptonite claim
The QB’s wait to exact revenge on the Chiefs didn’t go as planned. Amid this, a reporter suggested that the Kansas City Chiefs are his “kryptonite.” Jackson was quick to his feet and answered that they weren’t.
It ain’t my kryptonite. It’s not my kryptonite. It’s not my kryptonite. The whole game gives me encouragement, because I believe our guys were fighting. Unfortunately there were penalties almost every time we had an explosiveLamar Jackson said to the reporters
It is not untrue that Jackson pulled up and played excellently today. He believed that they could toe-to-toe against the Chiefs if they figured out how to cut down the self-caused mistakes.
All this being said, Jackson has gone 1-5 to the Chiefs in his career. In his five regular season starts, he only managed a single win. The Ravens now go against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 2. Jackson and his squad will have to put in extra effort and try to change the narrative by earning a chance to play the Chiefs in January.
