The Baltimore Ravens are not in an ideal position to qualify for the playoffs with a 1-5 start to the season. They will attempt to become the fifth-ever team in the league’s history since the AFL-NFL merger in 1970 to qualify from a 1-5 start to the season.

It could be yet another year that their signal-caller and star player, Lamar Jackson, has to extend fulfilling his dreams of the moment when he lifts the Lombardi Trophy, or they may become the first-ever team with a 1-5 start to win the Super Bowl, and tick one more goal on his bucket list. Jackson is one of the best quarterbacks in the league without a doubt.

He has consistently shown that he can cause trouble for any opposition through the air as well as double down through the ground. He has won two National Football League MVP awards and came close to a third one last year. However, his postseason record is a different story.

He has won just three of the eight starts, a record that is still used to criticize his abilities and talents. Like any other NFL athlete, Jackson wishes for that kiss of success, the silverware shining in his showcase. And he has dreamed about what he will do once he fulfills his dreams.

Jackson, who currently wears the #8 jersey, admitted in 2021 to the Ravens’ The Lounge Podcast that he plans to change that to #1 once he wins a championship. That’s not all, he then wants to win another ring in the #1 jersey as well. The bigger picture is that the Ravens will be forced to retire 8 and 1.

If we win the Super Bowl I’m going to #1… I want to retire #8 & #1… I want to win a Super Bowl with #8 on then come back and do the same thing with 1 on.

He explained that his father instilled in him that he was the best and the best wears the number one jersey. He also admitted that he played in #8 during his college years, where he won a Heisman and broke several records, and his mother convinced him to keep the same number when he joined the Ravens as well.

Lamar Jackson expected to return to action against the Chicago Bears in Week 8

Lamar Jackson, who sustained an injury in the fourth week of the season, missed the Baltimore Ravens’ last two games. The quarterback who had troubles with his hamstring is now expected to join the Ravens’ camp in their Week 8 game against the Chicago Bears.

The Ravens getting a bye week in Week 7 adds a sense of relief for them, as it gives Jackson more time to rejuvenate and rehabilitate. The Ravens, who are 0-2 in the absence of Jackson, are scrambling for a win after losing four in a row. Cooper Rush, though he has channeled the energy, is not an equal replacement for Jackson.

Jackson threw for 869 yards and 10 touchdowns with one interception in the four starts. His numbers include a sensational performance against the Cleveland Browns in Week 2, shining with four touchdowns in that one specific game. The victory not only gave them a better dynamic in the record table but also a motivating bounce back from the last-minute thriller loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Jackson, if he returns to the field, they will be hoping that he has recovered completely and fit and in form to be on the field. If Jackson’s injuries seem to affect the team’s overall output, it may not be anymore ideal for the dual-threat option.
