When Lamar Jackson first came into the league, many felt the Baltimore Ravens overreached for someone who did not fit the typical quarterback’s mold. Seven seasons in, and the perception has changed where he now finds himself as one of the league’s best.
Tonight, against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the two-time MVP showed why any doubts about him should be thrown into the bin.
The Monday Night Football showdown started with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers sacking Jackson twice for big losses in yardage. That forced the Ravens to punt, and their opponents seized the opportunity to go up 10-0. That was the last of it as Jackson put his team on his back and scored on the next six drives.
LAMAR JACKSON HAD AS MANY TDS AS HE HAD INCOMPLETIONS VS. THE BUCS ?

A fumble early in the fourth quarter could have ended up being costly for his team, considering how the Buccaneers rallied back. But knowing what his opponents are capable of, Lamar Jackson threw his fifth touchdown of the night to ensure his team ended up with the win.
Those five touchdowns came from 281 throwing yards and that too, to different receivers. He added 52 yards on the ground to finish with 333 total yards, which netted him a 158.1 passer rating. Just .2 shy of what could have been the perfect night out for the 27-year-old.
This win over a playoff team showed that when he is clicking, the Baltimore Ravens are difficult to stop. Their defense might have some work to do before the team becomes unstoppable. But until then, their quarterback can pull them through, especially if he is playing like this.
Fans heap praise on Lamar Jackson’s near perfect night
When the Baltimore Ravens lost their opening two games, questions arose if the reigning league MVP was trying to do too much. But since then, he has led his team to five straight wins. In that span, he ranks first in the NFL with a stellar 133.5 quarterback rating. Quite a level of consistency from arguably the best quarterback in the league so far.
Fans have seen Jackson play at an elite level before. But to air out five touchdowns against a stud Buccaneers defense and also punish them on the ground was surreal. Fans watching this Monday Night Football classic too to social media to sing their praises for the QB. Check out some examples below;

If Lamar Jackson continues to play at this level, expect the Baltimore Ravens to become an early Super Bowl favorite. As no one in the league is punishing defenses the way he is. Expect him to also be a favorite to win another league MVP award.
