After some stellar additions this offseason, many expected Lamar Jackson and his Baltimore Ravens to finally make a run for a Super Bowl win after years of disappointment.
Ever since they started their season with an embarrassing late-game meltdown in the loss to the Buffalo Bills, many were left wondering if it was the players or the coaching staff that were not dialed in on their goals.
Their loss to the Detroit Lions amplified those doubts, as the Ravens displayed a lack of bite, especially when trying to either chase or manage their lead late in the game.
Then came their latest and most embarrassing of their three losses so far to the Kansas City Chiefs. It was difficult for Ravens fans to see their team getting pummeled by a heated rival, whose own offensive woes were the talk of the entire season so far.
Instead, it was Patrick Mahomes and his unit that dumped four touchdowns on the so-called stellar Ravens’ defense. But that was not everything that left people wondering what was happening to the team.
Many analysts were shocked when it seemed as if Lamar Jackson took it upon himself to continue Derrick Henry‘s Game 3 fumbling streak. Then, on top of that, he ended the night on the injury list. Now his stay on the injury list is likely to continue.

They sourced this information from the Baltimore Sun’s Brian Wacker, whose sources revealed that the star quarterback’s recovery will determine the length of his absence, placing further doubt on the Ravens’ chances in their next games.
Lamar Jackson’s return is vital for Ravens’ playoff hopes
Four weeks of football have changed the perception of the Baltimore Ravens. From being Super Bowl favorites, to now fielding questions about their prospects of even reaching the playoffs.

It so happens that with every passing game, the chances of them targeting either reduce. The franchise has now lost three games against fellow playoff contenders, that too with Lamar Jackson on the field.
Now, without the two-time league MVP manning the most important position, there is a doubt if they can hold a candle to the Houston Texans and Los Angeles Rams in their next two games.
If they lose both, the Ravens will probably drop down to the bottom of the AFC, from where it will be nearly impossible to crawl back up the standings, especially when other teams are fighting for playoff places. Therefore, it is paramount that the 28-year-old returns to at least play the Rams.
ESPN analyst believes Lamar Jackson and Ravens’ Super Bowl hopes are over
The clock is ticking on Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens’ chances of attempting to reach a Super Bowl. After watching whatever has transpired so far, former champion Chris Canty believes the Ravens are done.
It’s a wrap for the Baltimore Ravens… You could be looking 1-5 going into Week 8. If that’s the case, then this season is a wrap. They are not competing for a divisional title, they are not making the postseason.

He believes the hole will be too deep if the franchise loses its next two games to the Texans and the Rams. Canty feels the organization should have been a Super Bowl contender every season.

Instead, he believes the organization has wasted Lamar Jackson’s best years. Unless they take a look at themselves, he is not sure if they can make a run to win a Super Bowl.
