NFL Week 10 started off with a bang as the Thursday Night Football clash between rivals Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals became a thrilling battle. What made it thrilling was the unreal plays from starting quarterbacks, Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow.

The duo combined for 718 yards and eight touchdowns, while averaging a staggering 124.85 quarterback rating. Unreal numbers from two of the best quarterbacks in the league. Burrow gained the edge in the passing yards, whereas Jackson spread the ball around and used his feet to do the damage.

It goes to show that when these two come together to play, football fans are generally in for a treat. Joe Burrow, though, had the harder task of accepting the one-point defeat. But that did not change what Lamar Jackson felt about him.

I just know that’s a great quarterback over there. It’s a lot of great quarterbacks in the league, not just us two, you know. It’s a divisional game. I just know it’s gonna be a dogfight, regardless. Cause he got dawg in him.

Lamar Jackson said in the post-game presser

Jackson tried to keep it respectful to the other quarterbacks in the league while talking to reporters after the game. But his final words reveal what he truly feels about his divisional rival. Joe Burrow putting up those numbers and making the game come down to the wire shows he had that ‘dawg’ in him.

The two 27-year-olds have been at it whenever they meet and are healthy. In both games this season, they have put up a combined 148 points. Staggering numbers for two quarterbacks who are yet to reach their thirties.

Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow have elite teammates to help them

Last season, it was Joe Burrow who had the combination of an elite receiving core and a good running back. This season though, their run game has yet to show its best side. But their receiving core is no doubt one of the best.

Their offseason addition of TE Mike Gesicki and the growth of second-year receiver Andrei Iosivas have definitely helped Burrow put up incredible numbers. But it is his former LSU teammate, Ja’Marr Chase, who had an incredible night against the Baltimore Ravens.

Lamar Jackson may not have an elite receiving squad as Burrow, but he does have good receivers starting the game. But he and the offensive play-calling team made the conscious decision to spread the ball around, so as to tire the defenders.

The Bengals’ defenders did a good job, stopping Derrick Henry from having another monster game. But that did not stop him from scoring his 12th touchdown of this season. If their offense continued to grow, and the Cincinnati Bengals did not have such a miserable start to their season, football fans could have had one more battle in the playoffs.
