The fumble bug found a new host on Sunday. After tormenting Derrick Henry for the first three weeks, it latched onto the Baltimore Ravens quarterback, Lamar Jackson.
Baltimore traveled to Arrowhead Stadium in search of a win over the Kansas City Chiefs. The Detroit Lions handed the Ravens a brutal defeat, further diminishing the AFC North club’s chances of playing in the Super Bowl.
KC, meanwhile, secured its first win of the season in week three and took a 20-7 lead over the Ravens with under 1:30 minutes left until halftime.
Jackson dropped back after snapping the ball on third and one. The Chiefs sent a blitz along with a spy, Leo Channel, whose presence halted Jackson’s run before the Pro Bowler collided with center Tyler Linderbaum. The ball came loose.
Chiefs DT Chris Jones, who flew back from Mississippi after attending his aunt’s funeral, pounced on Jackson’s back to collect a sack. Jones’ teammate, linebacker Drew Tranquill, recovered the ball to gain possession back for the Chiefs.

The joy nearly evaporated as everyone noticed the penalty marker on the turf. Luckily for the home team, the officials penalized the Ravens for offensive holding, which was declined, and they retained possession.
Elsewhere, the CBS cameras tailed Jackson into the Ravens’ dugout. A clip showed the frustrated shot caller smashing his helmet before retiring to one of the empty seats.

Derrick Henry struggled with fumbles in the previous three outings. Henry’s fumbles cost the Ravens the week one fixture against the Buffalo Bills and the week three fixture against the Detroit Lions.
Lamar Jackson’s outing against the Chiefs went from bad to worse
Jackson’s torment continued even after the break and escalated seconds before the end of the third quarter. The Chiefs had increased their points tally to 30 by that point.

Kicker Tyler Loop cut the lead to fourteen before getting dealt a big blow. A George Karlaftis sack left Jackson holding the back of his leg.
