Despite playing another MVP-caliber season, Lamar Jackson once again failed to reach the Super Bowl and establish his candidacy for future Hall of Fame recognition. At this point, many believe the Baltimore Ravens don’t have what it takes to win the Vince Lombardi Trophy but his teammates still haven’t lost faith in him.

Patrick Ricard, who is set to enter free agency in the coming month of March, addressed the media following the heartbreaking playoff loss against the Buffalo Bills, to share his desire to stay in Baltimore and play with the two-time NFL MVP quarterback. As he expressed his firm belief that Jackson will undoubtedly establish his legacy by winning the Super Bowl, Ricard is eager to join him on that journey.

I think this year you’ve seen how he’s grown as a player, how quickly he’s making decisions, his growth of his reads, the way he throws the ball, the way he decides when to run. It’s inevitable he’s going to win a Super Bowl and I want to be a part of it. It just sucks it hasn’t happened yet. I personally feel bad for him because he deserves it, just because of how great a player he is.

Patrick Ricard said

Additionally, Ricard drew parallels between legend Peyton Manning and his teammate, highlighting the former was 3-5 in the playoffs during the same period that Jackson played, but still went on to win two Super Bowls. That’s why, he believes the 28-year-old also has enough time before his retirement to win the championship.

Lamar Jackson blesses Josh Allen for NFL MVP award

The frustration on Jackson’s face was quite evident after his team endured another playoff elimination, as he took responsibility for the loss by blaming his turnovers. And if it’s not the Super Bowl, the Ravens quarterback has no interest in winning anything else– not even a third NFL MVP award.

“We competing, don’t get me wrong, but hats off to him and hats off to me – that’s what he said to me,” said Jackson while blessing Josh Allen to win the award.

You know, great players recognize greatness and we both recognized each other. But I told him, ‘Man, go get some, go win something. MVP, Super Bowl, do something.’ I want him to be successful.

With 4,172 yards, Jackson is most likely to win the award next month after the Super Bowl, whereas his divisional-round opponent, the Buffalo Bills quarterback has the second-best odds due to his standout qualities that brought his team to the conference championship in playoffs.
