The Baltimore Ravens are one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl. Quarterback Lamar Jackson has a strong offense, and a much-improved defense compared to last season that should help them win it all. It should also go on to help cement the QB’s legacy as one of the best that ever played the game.
Coming into the Draft, many teams wanted Lamar Jackson to try out at wide receiver. He denied those requests and preferred to stick to his goal of playing as a quarterback. Then, the Ravens took a chance on him and selected him with their no. 32 pick.
After he signed his rookie contract, he was handed the No. 8 jersey. The star, though, had played with No. 1 on his back all throughout his developmental years in high school. But since then, he has elevated the No. 8 jersey to the extent that he tried to trademark it.
If the Florida native does help the Baltimore Ravens land their third Super Bowl, it should push the team to retire his jersey a while after he retires. However, the superstar had some other ideas as he explained on The Lounge podcast.
If we win the Super Bowl, I’m going to No. 1. That’s my first number ever. I want to retire No. 8 and No. 1, I want to do that here at the Ravens. I want to win a Super Bowl with No. 8 on. Then come back and do the same thing with 1 on.

This admission, though, is from 2021, when he was already an NFL League MVP and was touted as one of the best QBs in the league. However, since then, he and his team have struggled to put themselves in a position to win the Lombardi Trophy.
Lamar Jackson and his All-Pro teammates have to play their best ball to win Super Bowl
Earlier, the Associated Press named Lamar Jackson to their All-Pro 1st Team. Along with him, he had fullback Patrick Ricard, linebacker Roquan Smith and Marlon Humphrey in the 1st team. They were also joined by Derrick Henry, and safety Kyle Hamilton as second team selections.

Along with three more Pro Bowlers, it goes to show that this season, the Baltimore Ravens are a much more balanced squad. Along with the coaching that remains one of the best in the league, the team has no excuses for not going all the way.
Stephen A. Smith mentioned that the excuses will not work this time, even though Zay Flowers won’t suit up for Saturday. With everything going for them, they should have an easy outing against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
However, they will likely face the Buffalo Bills in the Divisional Round. If that happens, they will have to face the vaunted Bills Mafia while possibly play on snow. Get past that, and they will face a Kansas City Chiefs intent on finishing their three-peat goals.
Win that AFC Championship game and then face an NFC powerhouse in the Super Bowl. If Jackson manages to lead them to win the Lombardi Trophy, he can come through with his four-year-old plan to change into the No. 1 jersey next season.
