The Cincinnati Bengals came into town to take on the Baltimore Ravens with an intent to win. Their intent was evident when they went up by two touchdowns early into the second half. But then, Lamar Jackson decided he had to take over the game.
The Cincinnati Bengals were without star wideout Tee Higgins. But that did not deter Joe Burrow from connecting with Ja’Marr Chase on a 67-yard touchdown, which suggested the Bengals wanted this win badly. They could not be faulted considering the way they started their season.
On the other hand, this loss would be embarrassing for the Baltimore Ravens. That too sitting two full scores down. Lamar Jackson and the Ravens tried on the next drive but were stopped. Thankfully, their defense did one better and forced a fumble, giving the offense a short field to cover.
Jackson helped his teammates gain 20 yards and ended up in a second and nine at the Bengals 11-yard line. On that snap, the 27-year-old QB received the ball and started stepping backward like he usually does. But then, he noticed that the Bengals’ defensive line had broken through.
He started scrambling backward and ended up at the Bengals 31-yard line. He then decided to race along the sideline and reached the 11-yard line again. This time, he saw another defender in front of him, but juked past him with ease. Finally, Bengals linebacker Germaine Pratt recovered from the juke and ran back to tackle his opponent at the 1-yard line.

But what amazed football folks was that Lamar Jackson backtracked 20 yards, ran back 30 to recover. Meaning he actually was on his feet for 50 total yards as he did not want to give up and put his team in a position to score.
Derrick Henry continues his TD-scoring streak after Lamar Jackson’s scramble
His unreal efforts did not go to waste, as the Baltimore Ravens managed to score on the next snap. With perennial red zone threat Derrick Henry in the backfield, it was not a surprise when the ball was handed to him.

He held the ball with his left hand, stiff-armed a defensive back, and continued driving up. His strength and power were on full display when Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Joe Bachie‘s full-bodied tackle was not enough to stop him. ‘King’ Henry stretched his upper body and broke the plane to score.

This was his 12th touchdown of the season, making Jerry Jones‘ decision to not sign him a mistake as the days went by. But more importantly, for his team, that touchdown sparked a second-half run that helped them get back into the game.
Henry did not do much later, but his backfield mate threw three touchdowns in the fourth quarter. That and a goal-line 2-point conversion stop helped the Baltimore Ravens win that epic late-game battle 35-34.
