Lamar Jackson tried to be sneaky in the Sunday game’s last play but made a mess of things completely. The Baltimore Ravens quarterback had the right idea, but midway into his plan of action, all the exits in front of him closed, leading to utter confusion.

The Ravens were stranded inside their 40-yard line with no timeouts and only 30 seconds left on the clock. Justin Tucker is a top-3 kicker, but there was no denying that the Ravens were out of field goal range.

So, the best play head coach John Harbaugh could call was allowing Jackson to snap the ball, run straight through the Raiders defensive line, and gain as many yards as possible. Then Tucker can win it for them with the game-deciding kick,

The stage was set, and when Lamar jogged inside the Raiders’ 30-yard line, he surprised everyone with a lateral to Justice Hill as the space caved in. It started a series of ping-pong among the players until the refs stopped the play by throwing a penalty marker. The game ended, and the smile on Gardner Minshew’s face meant he finally won his first game as the Raiders quarterback.

The Ravens are now 0-2 from their opening two games, as they also lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in week 1. This marks their worst start to a season since 2015 when they went 0-3 and equals the records from 2002 and 1999.

Lamar Jackson disappointed with the loss to the Raiders

Fans had to wait until the fourth quarter to see a touchdown in the game as Jackson handed off a pass to Derrick Henry for a 3-yard rushing TD. Before that, Tucker and Raiders Daniel Carlson exchanged field goals, keeping the scoreboard ticking.

The Ravens looked solid through the air and on the ground, but the Raiders’ defensive line held firm, as head coach Antonio Pierce said after the game.

I told these guys last night and throughout the week to beat one of the best teams in football last year and to beat one of the best players in the game, Lamar [Jackson], we need all the units to play at their best. It all came down together in the fourth quarter.
Antonio Pierce said. (H/T: ESPN)

Jackson finished with 21 of 34 for 247 yards with his touchdown to Zay Flowers and one interception.

We've got to find our mojo and do what we do, because that's not us at all.
Lamar Jackson said

Jackson has yet to beat the Raiders since they relocated to Las Vegas. He last tasted victory over them in November 2018, when the Raiders were still in Oakland. The score that day was 34-17. That’s all in the past, and the 2x NFL MVP should erase them from memory and focus on playing the Buffalo Bills in week 3.
