The Baltimore Ravens, led by quarterback Lamar Jackson, are among the top contenders for Super Bowl 2026, along with the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles. The primary reason behind the projections is the presence of the quarterback and the explosive offense supported by RB Derrick Henry and WR DeAndre Hopkins.

In a recent episode of the Get Up by ESPN, former quarterback-turned analyst Dan Orlovsky made a striking claim about the Ravens ahead of their first game against the Buffalo Bills. Orlovsky handed the title of the most pressured team in the 2025-26 season to the Ravens. However, it is not just about Jackson but also the other elements of the franchise.

At some point, we have to get past the reasons and excuses for why it doesn’t happen. This is a team that has a Super Bowl-winning head coach, it has the best roster in football, they’re starting secondary is all first-round picks, and their quarterback has multiple MVPs. At some point, you gotta go win the whole thing.

Dan Orlovsky claimed

If 2025 doesn’t deliver results, Orlovsky believes the Ravens may be forced into a restart. Jackson is expected to remain the franchise cornerstone, but Baltimore could look to rework its leadership structure, potentially moving on from John Harbaugh, who has been at the helm since 2008 and has led the team to a Super Bowl title in 2012.

The Baltimore Ravens start season with their biggest test of the season

The Baltimore Ravens open the season with a conference game against the Buffalo Bills. The Bills and Ravens previously met in the postseason last year in the divisional round of the 2024 season. The Bills defeated the Ravens 27-25 after they failed to overcome three turnovers.

Nevertheless, the Ravens had the upper hand on the Bills in the regular season game. They have played each other 13 times in history, in which the Ravens have come on top in 7 games. The game, although not a heated rivalry with history, is one of the most anticipated games of the season. The Bills are equally considered one of the strongest teams in the AFC, which makes the matchup quite an interesting affair.

One of the biggest advantages that the Ravens have is Derrick Henry. Henry was one of the most prolific running backs in the last season, finishing second in most rushing yards behind leader Saquon Barkley. Henry was one of the few running backs in league history to rush for more than 1900 yards and still finish as the second. The game may heavily depend on how well Henry is utilized.

The Bills will present a strong defense for Henry. They have seriously upgraded their defensive line, and Week 1 provides them enough depth to play with the roster and ensure any kind of fatigue.

Furthermore, one of the less talked about subjects about the Bulls Mafia is their offensive line. The Bills have a strong offensive line, which is considered by many as one of the top o-lines in the league. The Ravens will also have an uphill battle with respect to the venue. The Bills are playing at Highmark Stadium, their last-ever season opener in that iconic venue. They are scheduled to shift to a new stadium in the upcoming season.

However, the Bills are not without fault. The Ravens arguably have an equal footing at quarterback, while they are better in many positions, including the receiving corps. Despite the upgrade in defense, the Bills have glaring holes at safety and cornerback as well.
