Lamar Odom has had quite a life. First, he won the NBA Championship playing alongside the late great Kobe Bryant. Then he was thrust into the public eye when his relationship and subsequent marriage to Khloe Kardashian came out. After that, the Los Angeles Lakers star’s drug abuse and divorce along with his career winding down, all contributed to the former star to be a household name.

Now the name Lamar Odom again became a headline when TMZ revealed that he took a special skin treatment. This procedure was under the guidance of Dr. Robert Dorfman in Beverly Hills, California. It consists of micro needling Rejuran Salmon sperm into his skin. Many widely regard this as an anti-aging treatment because it helps rejuvenate the skin and improve complexion.

Generally, such a treatment would cost $3,200, but it is unclear how much it set the former Los Angeles Lakers star back. The 44-year-old apparently wanted to get in on the trend of this facial treatment, something that his former sister-in-law Kim Kardashian claimed to have done. This treatment has become a trend among Hollywood stars. Friends star Jennifer Aniston advocates for it.

It seems, Lamar Odom wanted to be a part of this and try and look better. As he dabbles into podcasts, music and other streams of work, looking good is something he has to do all the time. Ever since retiring, the star has been trying to build a life, sometimes those efforts went to the extent of even risking it all.

Lamar Odom almost lost his life to drugs

This treatment might be something he is doing to his skin, but it is not his first rodeo with artificial enhancers. Towards the end of his NBA career, the former Sixth Man of the Year struggled with his health. He turned to alcohol and law enforcement arrested him for DUI. The court sentenced him to three years of probation and alcohol abuse treatment for that incident.

It didn’t stop there. A drug overdose left him unconscious at Nevada’s Love Ranch. Doctors placed him on life support after he suffered multiple strokes and heart failures. Only after he regained consciousness was he airlifted from Las Vegas to Los Angeles, where he continued his recovery. After his recovery his divorce with Khloe Kardashian was formalized.

Later on, he acknowledged that his use of cocaine sent his life out of control, even calling himself a walking miracle. He attributed his shorter than usual NBA career to his drug abuse. Now, several years later, he focuses on living a healthy life.
