NBA fans call out Charlotte Hornets superstar LaMelo Ball for getting sued by family after driving over their 11-year-old boy
LaMelo Ball seems to have found himself in a bit of a soup even before his rookie max contract kicks in next year. After the Charlotte Hornets’ Purple and Teal Day held at the Spectrum Center in October, Ball apparently ran over an 11-year-old boy’s foot. Now the child’s family has sued the young superstar, leading NBA fans to light up the internet.
WSOC TV broke the news that an 11-year-old boy, Angell Joseph, was waiting outside the Spectrum Center for an autograph. Joseph then approached the superstar’s car for an autograph. However, Ball did not sign the autograph and sped away in his car.

Since Joseph was standing close, Ball’s car ran over his foot, breaking it. The young boy’s mother is now suing the Charlotte Hornets young guard for damages.
LaMelo Ball is known to have a penchant for fast and expensive cars. He takes it up a notch by customizing it with wild colors and modifications. But more importantly, many videos are around on the internet showcasing his carelessness while driving.
The amount the mother of the boy is seeking is small compared to the $200 million contract that Ball is about to get. But this incident will surely make a dent in his reputation. The Charlotte Hornets, under their new ownership, might also look into these matters concerning their franchise cornerstone.
