FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta shockingly revealed that the club had turned down a massive $270 million bid for Lamine Yamal, this summer. Despite Laporta not revealing the identity of the bidder, there has been speculation that they were of Qatari descent.

Lamine Yamal has seen his stakes rise over the past few seasons, since making his debut for Barcelona at the age of just 15. He also played a pivotal role in Spain’s 2024 Euro-winning journey. There have been various reports of the club receiving a massive $270 million transfer offer from a big European club for the talented forward. Some sources suggest that the unnamed club might be Ligue 1 giants PSG, who have been trying to find a replacement for Kylian Mbappe, who joined Real Madrid this summer.

These rumors have been confirmed by Barcelona president Joan Laporta, who recently stated that the club turned down the offer for the 17-year-old La Masia star. While also speaking on the club’s transfer policy, Laporta defended Barca’s decision to part ways with several players over the past few years, while denying that it was because of financial struggles. Moreover, he noted that players like Ousmane Dembele and Marc Guiu left primarily due to sporting reasons.
