17-year-old Lamine Yamal has lived up to every last bit of what was expected of him at the big stage. From an unbelievable strike against France in the semi-final to setting up Nico Williams against England in the final, the youngster has done his part for the Spanish national team. After getting hands on his first senior international trophy at just 17, the FC Barcelona winger has attracted quite a of attention around the globe.

From a congratulatory post by Pele Foundation to winning the Young Player of the Tournament at the Euros, Yamal has had quite the summer with the national team. Recently, one of the biggest names in mixed martial arts and UFC offered the highest praise for the teenager! Conor McGregor is a familiar name in the footballing community, given his relationship with Cristiano Ronaldo and other big names in the sport.

McGregor recently bet on Ronaldo to top the scoring charts at the Euros, even though the 39-year-old Portuguese superstar ended his tournament with zero goals to his name. Fans are hopeful that McGregor’s words of praise do not backfire and that his trajectory continues on the path most expected to.

Lamine Yamal’s agent demands ‘new’ contract offer following successful Euros campaign

At the age of 17, Lamine Yamal is undoubtedly one of the best players for FC Barcelona. After breaking into the first team under Xavi Hernandez, the youngster played almost every single game for the club in the 2023/24 season. Following an unbelievable display at the Euros, Yamal’s agent Jorge Mendes wasted no time in letting the club know that his performances deserve an appropriate compensation.

Yamal signed a three-year long deal last summer, where the club offered him compensation appropriate for a 16-year-old. The deal also included a verbal agreement for a new four-year contract once the Spaniard turned 18. This also included a significant bump in salary and associated perks for the winger.

However, the teenager’s agent is now pushing the club to put forward the terms of the contract Yamal will sign when he turns 18. The club aren’t expected to have any problems with Mendes given the understanding that there will not be a new contract for the youngster. The demands are clear – reveal the terms of the revamped offer the club will make to Yamal once he comes of age.
