As clubs prepare for the start of the 2024/25 season, fans were taken aback by an unexpected link-up on social media. Football X came to a standstill as FC Barcelona’s very own Lamine Yamal posed for pictures with Cristiano Jr.! The former is one of the most exciting talents in Europe, with the world being witness to his prowess at UEFA Euro 2024.

Several pictures from their link-up were shared on social media as fans shared their excitement on the internet. Yamal, aged 17, and Cristiano Jr. three years younger, are popular on social media as well, although the latter does not have an official Instagram handle. Yamal boasts close to 20 million followers on the app. Their recent link-up featured the two in casuals and flip flops.

Following the same, Yamal took to Instagram as he shared a story playing football with Cristiano Jr. and the rest of his friends. The 17-year-old is yet to return to Barcelona as he enjoys a well-deserved break following success with Spain at the Euros.

The teenager was also named as the Young Player of the Tournament as Spain beat England 2-1 on the night. Cristiano Jr. on the other hand, currently plays for Al-Nassr’s academy as part of the U13 team.

Are Lamine Yamal and Cristiano Jr. the next Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo? Fans are thoroughly convinced of the same as pictures of the two went viral on social media. A fan commented that it was surprising to see the two become friends after no reports whatsoever of the youngsters knowing each other. Others were envious of the talent on display and felt that the two will take over the sport in due time.

As Yamal uploaded a picture with Cristiano Jr. and his friends on a football pitch, fans were dying to know the end result and who won between the two. Some couldn’t believe that a bunch of 17 and 14-year-olds could manage to break the internet with just a picture of them together. A fan was sure that at least one person in the picture will end up winning a Ballon d’Or in the future.

It remains to be seen which team Cristiano Jr. will end up playing for. That being said, it is no secret that nearly every top club in Europe, including Real Madrid are keeping tabs on the youngster. If the move ends up happening, fans are in for a repeat of the Messi vs Ronaldo era. Yamal will soon return to pre-season as the world awaits his return under new manager Hansi Flick.
