FC Barcelona continued its dominant run of form under Hansi Flick when it came up against local rivals Espanyol in La Liga. A brace from Dani Olmo and a goal from man of the moment Raphinha helped Barcelona to a comfortable 3-1 win on the night. Of all the goals scored at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys, Lamine Yamal‘s spectacular assist grabbed the spotlight.

The 17-year-old was up to his usual tricks from the wing as he spotted Olmo in the penalty area. Just 12 minutes after kick-off, Yamal sent an outrageous trivela pass into the penalty area. Olmo shook off his marker as the new signing found the net from close range. Fans applauded the finish, but Yamal’s assist was simply a level above.

The player then went on to make several attempts on goal, but to no avail. With his 12th goal contribution this season, the teenager has as many goal involvements as games played.

His most recent moment of magic came through an assist to Dani Olmo, with his ball mimicking that of passes played by Luka Modric and Ricardo Quaresma.

A fan commented that Yamal is undoubtedly the best youngster in the world and will surpass Vinicius Jr. and every other Real Madrid player in no time. Another added that Yamal has more non-penalty goal contributions this season than Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius combined. Some even opined that the player would soon find his name among Ballon d’Or winners.
