Barcelona prodigy Lamine Yamal opened up about life under new manager Hansi Flick, as the club remains on top of the La Liga table. The 17-year-old forward expressed delight, and stated that the players are happy to play under the German manager.

Blaugrana have made a brilliant start to their new campaign, winning eight out of their first nine matches in the Spanish league. They are currently on top of the league table with 24 points, holding a three-point lead over second-placed and arch-rivals Real Madrid. Lamine Yamal has also seen his stakes rise during this new season, scoring six goals and providing five assists in 13 appearances, while also forging a brilliant partnership with fellow forwards, Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha.

Having recently won the 2024 Euros with the Spanish national team, Yamal opened up about life under Hansi Flick. He stated that the players are happy to be playing under the German’s play-style and strategy. Moreover, he also exclaimed that Flick has induced a new form of confidence and freedom in the side, adding to the team’s winning prospects this season. He also added that the manager has been giving freedom to players, helping them grow over time.

Additionally, the La Masia star also stated that Barcelona have increased their physical presence this season. Speaking to the media, Yamal also showered praise on team-mate Robert Lewandowski, who has scored 10 goals in nine matches till now.

Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal opened up about his brief outburst, after being substituted off during the club’s 3-0 win over Alaves. The 17-year-old forward was left visibly frustrated, after being substituted off during the 67th minute of the match, replaced by Ansu Fati.

He had a similar reaction after being taken off during Barcelona UCL outing against Young Boys last week. Speaking on both the instances, the La Masia prodigy clarified that his angered reaction was not because he was taken off, but because he was disappointed by his own performance. Moreover, he also added that he told Flick that he would give his 100 percent in the next match.

More than angry, I was not happy with my game. I thought I could play better, deep down I thought I could have played a better game… It was with myself.

Meanwhile, Yamal has now joined the Spanish national team, and will be participating in the upcoming Nations League matches against Denmark and Serbia. Following that, the forward is expected to return to the Barca side, which face a tough challenge in Bayern Munich, in the UCL next.
