As the 2024 Euros in Germany come to a close, it is safe to say that Spain couldn’t have done it without their youngsters. Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams did not disappoint in the final, as the two players combined to break down an otherwise impregnable English defense. After being kept on the sidelines by Luke Shaw and Kyle Walker in the first half, it took the duo only a few minutes to get things going in the second.

After playing it ‘safe’ for the entirety of the first half, La Roja upped the ante. With 47 minutes on the clock, Dani Carvajal found Lamine Yamal on the wing to set off what would be the opener for Spain. Yamal effortlessly cut inside the English box before laying off the ball to his teammate Williams. Without leaving much to chance, the 22-year-old swung at the ball with his left, successfully managing to beat Jordan Pickford at his far post.

Williams celebrated emphatically by sticking out his tongue and cupping his ears, similar to how Brazilian winger Neymar Jr. celebrates his goals. With 4 assists and a goal, Yamal has already tied Cristiano Ronaldo for goal contributions in international knockout games.

Meanwhile, with two goals, an assist and the Player Of The Match award, Williams didn’t have a bad tournament himself.

At just 17 and 22, Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams have done the unthinkable for Spain. Another added that the two playing for the same team will be disastrous for the rest of La Liga. From claiming that the two were the best duo currently in world football to demanding that the two share the Player of the Tournament title, praise couldn’t have been higher for the two. After Yamal’s impressive performance in the final, a few even argued that he has been better than Jude Bellingham lately.

As Barcelona (Yamal) prevailed over Real Madrid (Jude Bellingham) on the biggest stage, supporters couldn’t wait for the league season to begin in Spain. After pulling off an impressive 2-1 win in the final, Spain became the country with the most European championships to their name (4).
