World No.6 Alexander Zverev defeats Matteo Berrettini in the final of the Madrid Masters to lift his 4th Masters 1000 title, his second in Madrid. Coming from a set down, he got the better of the Italian in a hard fought match 6-7(8),6-4,6-3.

It was a first Masters 1000 final for Berrettini and the nerves were visible right away. In the last two sets, he missed some fairly easy shots from mid-court. Having said that, the Italian has very well shown his critics why he deserves to be in the Top 10.

Both Zverev and Berrettini will be back in action this week in Rome. The Italian at home will be taking on Nikoloz Basilashvili in the opening round while Zverev has been handed a first round bye.
