Laura Govan has been making rounds in the media after her latest interview with Carlos King on his “Reality with the King” podcast. Govan, Gilbert Arenas’ ex, joined King to set the record straight on a number of rumors that have been spread about her.
Although the former Basketball Wives star has faced a lot of rumors throughout her life, none perhaps, have been as severe as the rumors of her with Shaquille O’Neal. In 2009, Govan was accused of having an affair with Shaquille while the HOF Big Man was with Shaunie O’Neal.
Interestingly, Shaunie was also a co-star on the Basketball Wives show along with Govan. After Gilbert Arenas recently brought the story to life again, Govan decided to clear the air during her interview with King.
I won’t comment on this until I speak with Shaunie, the person who started these rumors. When she’s ready for a real, woman-to-woman conversation, I’ll set the record straight. Not only will you hear my side of the story, but I’ll also share some truths about Shaunie.

Govan revealed that she would not speak about her relationship with Shaq, until and unless Shaunie agreed to have a sit-down conversation with her. She wants to have a ‘woman-to-woman’ conversation with her before commenting on her past with Shaq.
The 45-year-old’s frustration especially stems from Shaunie being the genesis of the cheating rumors between Shaq and Govan. The rumors of an affair between her and Shaq would eventually lead to the end of his marriage with Shaunie for good.
As for Govan, the 45-year-old was herself in a relationship with NBA star Arenas at the time. The duo would also eventually split up after 12 years together in 2014. Their relationship encountered a handful of problems of their own accord as well.

Laura Govan was one of the most popular figures during the LA edition of the Basketball Wives show. She came onto the show in 2011, before departing in season 2. She would also make a brief return to the show in 2017.
Govan did not hold back about her truth and set the record straight on her exit from the show and why she has not confirmed her return yet.

According to Govan, Shaunie O’Neal, now a producer on the show, has been in cahoots with Gilbert Arenas. He had agreed to come on the show with his fiance only if he was given the assurance that Govan wouldn’t be on it.
Only recently did Arenas announce his decision to get engaged to Melli Monaco. It was the first and only relationship that Agent Zero has confirmed since his split from Govan in 2014.
